Moreover I love writing gore and Leviathan!Castiel basically screamed I can do lots of gorey shit now and it would be in character! I know all those reasons are probably very mundane and silly, but I think what I really saw with Leviathan!Cas was an untapped oil well of potential. Also parts of me just wanted to write an angel, and Misha’s preformance as the Leviathans just really touched a nerve for me. Aside from that I found the concept of the Leviathans fascinating and criminally mishandled at the same time. It is the first time that I switched up a writing style so drastically. The first thing, which actually drew me to my version of Leviathan!Castiel is the type of writing style I implore with them. I also really like the fact that Ruby basically wins. It felt like a very appropriate reaction towards this magnitude of a betrayal. Heck, I really liked her story arc and am not mad that she got killed off. Anyway the fact that Ruby had a drive and a clear role in the story fascinated me. I also think that Genevieve is really, really hot. I also loved that through her, Sam was allowed to take a darker turn as a character. She was a manipulator, she was cunning, she masked to hide her real intentions. Whereas Meg was pure utter chaos, which is fun in Season One and Two, Ruby fit more my alley. However what really drew me to Ruby that she felt like a slightly more fleshed out version then Meg. One of the reasons I added Ruby as a muse was actually the desire to write some more female characters.
